MAU Officially Opens Its Doors

On Thursday evening March 8, 2007, the faculty and staff of South Florida´s newest university celebrated their long awaited Grand Opening. The event was a huge success as more than 200 visitors stopped by to watch as MAU President Arístides Maza and the Board of Directors alongside of Doral´s Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez cut the red ribbon at the entrance to the campus located at 10395 NW 41st St. in Doral.

One of the highlights of the evening was when Campus President Aristedes Maza-Duerto presented Tony Rodríguez of the Miami Police Department´s "Do the Right Thing" project with 5 full scholarships for selected recipients to attend a Bachelor´s degree program of their choice. This presentation was another demonstration of Millennia Atlantic University´s continuing commitment to work with their new community. MAU has already generously presented the Cities of Doral, Hialeah, Hialeah Gardens, and the Towns of Medley and Sweetwater with full scholarships, as well. Each scholarship is worth more than $30,000.

Radio stations Clasica 92.3FM and Kalle 98.3FM did remote broadcasts from the location, neighboring market La Estancia catered with delicious and plentiful platters of food, and numerous community dignitaries took tours of the beautiful, modern campus. Doral Business Council President Pete De La Torre was one of many dignitaries congratulating the Millennia Board of Directors on the opening of such a beautifully decorated, modern, state-of-the-art equipped campus. The faculty, staff, Board, and family members beamed with pride as each visitor remarked on the beauty of the campus. The City of Doral business people and residents truly provided MAU with a warm welcome!
